I was very happy to see South Korea's movie in USA. When I saw this movie in theather, I was proud of my country. My feeling like is that my country has lots of beautiful actress like them as Jennifer Aniston or Sarah Jessica Parker. In the movie, the actress were very famous in Korean Society, but they are same in reality. I had question that how much the director spend to casting fee for gathering the top actress.

This movie is like documentary or reality program. Because the actress were very complaining about wating and using some slang in Korean. I am not sure that their act is real or not, but I think that the chrimas party scene looks life very real. Actually, I might be expect to hear some gassip in the movie, but it didn't present. At the christmas scene, it is like a talkshow.They talked each other very naturally as talkative. Most of people anticipated of unconvinience and sadness to actess. However, when the actress told their problem, it is not a give some information and it is problem with communication. They had to be looked like perfect and the most beautiful person in the world, and they had some problem about can't talk whenever and whatever they want. Also, they had afraid of rival. Some old actress told about their divorce. Actually, the issue is after divorcing. As a result, they had common about their own story . I realized that they are just 'people' and 'women' same as me. They are same people who can be afraid of getting old and have pain about gassip relate to their divorce.

If I were one of the actress, I didn't keep getting that kind of job. It is not garantee my own privacy life, and always on the table in others conversation. It will be very sad moment. I don't have that kind of beauty and talent, but I am very satisfied my life which is different from actress's lives.

Castaway on the Moon

This is one of the SIFF movie which is my teacher recommended. This is a South Korea movie, so I could enjoyed this movie withour subtitle. It was very new experience to see South Korea movie in American movie theather.

The story of this movie is a man who had collection debts and was dumped from his girl friend tried to kill himself at Han-river, but it was not successful. Because he was dropped on the Island which couldn't live in Han-river. A woman who belived in living in her room only without any communication with others and can have various experience found him. These people could find match point each other and finally, met each other after escaping the Island and her room.

I think plot in the movie is very interesting.Nobady can imainge that someone lived in the Island is Seoul which is metrocity in South Korea. The city is very busy and has lived too many people,but no one knows he was there. I think that it means that it is "us". People look like communication with each other very well, but it is not true. When I saw first scene in the movie, a man used his cell phone, I had some idea. Cell phone looks like to a way of communication with others in society, but it is only one way to communicate with person. It just a one way, only sender exists without receiver. In the movie, cell phone was not working because of out of battery, a man could return to natural mind. At that time, he though that if he died, it is not bad. Therefore, he could really enjoyed something which he did not know it was there.

During the castaway life in the Island, he could contact with a woman who looked at the moon in her room through analog way without any digital machine. In their communication, they felt something common relationship each others strongly and their relationship changed kind of couple. In the movie, a man and a woman had suffer from society and they tried to separate with society through suicide and lying. Final scene, they were cured by each others. I think that their needs were communication and homogeneity. They were kind of loser in society, but when they tried to overcome their suffering, it is going to be started to communication. Their weakness is a way of communication.

21's Century is very high technology community. Whenever, people need to communicate with others , they can use electronic device. Although the digital device is developing well, the way of communication each other goes backward. I think that if I want to tell my mind through text, it is not enough and reciever can misunderstand. Also, I think that it is not right what closed my mind because I don't want to have suffer with others. When I have that problem, I need to go others, not avoiding relationship.

Oasis

I saw movie' Oasis'. It is Korean movie. The main actor and actress are very famous in South Korea. Especially, the actress came to SIFF in 2006 ( I guess!!). She was invited during SIFF period and I could see her face to face. She didn't have a beautiful face such as Guiness Paltrrow, but she was very attractive type which I couldn't say.

The movie usually dealt with discrimination and rape. As a result, I was uncomfortable to see this movie at the first time. The story was that a man who was criminal and rejected from his family after released from jail met a woman who named " princess". Their relationship is not normal. Because he hit and run one of her family members. After he release from jail, he visted her family for forgiving.When he arrived her house, nobody was there, except her. She was a disabled person who has a polio. When he saw her, he tried to rape her.At that time, her brother and sister came in and saved her.He was hit by her brother and returned home.Several days later, he kept thinking about her, and she was same with him. They started to their heart and to date. They were reall fall in love each other, and they were having a sex. Druing that, her brother came in again,and he was arrested by "rape". She wanted to explain that it was not, but she couldn't control her body and he put in the jail again. However, their love wouldn't stop in the jail. He kept writing the letter to her and call her as "My Princess".

I think that the movie of South Korea did not represent 'disabled person'. At the first time to watch this movie, my feeling was not easy.Because of " Disabled". I think that it is problem not only me but also others, too. The reason is that Korean didn't learn and experience about how to share culture with disabled people. Korean peopel usually thought that disabled people should be hide in the closet and they are not normal.Also, they always need to someone's help and made annoying to 'normal person. It is very dangerous thoughs.

In the movie, when they started to date,he was with her on her back and his the other hands hold her wheelchair. He tried to run for getting last subway in the midnight, but he missed it. At the moment, I was cry because I felt like I was just into her life. Although he was a criminal, he was aginst her disabled.

Especially, in the movie, when he tried to rape her when he saw her ,first time, it seemed to include some meaning of it what she had to be thankful to him for raping her. The reason is that she was a disabled woman.It is extreamly sad. Actually, my case, I always think about don't do think differently about disabled person as me. The truth is they are not different from me. However, my behavior is very different in real life. If I saw disabled person, I looked at him/her poorly and lower than me. I know it is huge problem on me , but it is result from education in South Korea. In South Korea , they are never mentioned about disabled people such as how to be act when we met them or how to think about their physical or mental condition. If I should have gotten appropriate education about disabled, I never avoid them and ignore them.

When I arrived in Seattle, I saw the many feature for concerning about disabled person such as transportation. I cannot imagine in South Korea. In the movie, he called her name as" princess",because she was real princess to him such as life saver. So far, I discriminated me and disabled person , but it is not different. They can love each other and dream about their positive future. During this class, my thought is getting different about racism and disabled what they are just different from me, not 'wrong'.

Boyz N the Hood

In 1984, Central Los Angeles, Tre is the only child of Furious. When Tre was a little, he lived with his mom who was divorced with his father , she had hard time to raise him up alone as a “man”. After that Tre has lived his father. His father is very smart , but not kind. Tre has a trouble in his adolescent hood and hard time with gun fire in black community. One day , his best friend, Ricky was killed by other black gang and his brother did do revenge and died, too.

I think that it is very different with who movie director is. If movie directors who is white make African American movie, they deal with segregation, desire about freedom, or process of accomplishing their goal. Also, in the movie, they can tell us African American can be saved their life by White people. However, is it the same as African American movie which made by African American director? Sometimes it is or not. They can explain ‘increase peace’ like as the end of the movie.

Who is enemy of African American? Most of people can think easily answer that it is White. But it is not. The answer is black. In the beginning of this movie, we can see “ One out of every twenty-one Black Americans male will be murdered in their lifetime.” “Most will die at the hands of another Black male”.

Main Characters in this movie are Tre, Ricky and Darin. Drain is a gang, and Ricky is a football player and Tre is a smart and kind. The reason how Tre keep good personality and concept of his life is his father. His father is very strict and smart. One day, Ricky died suddenly when he went to market. It was very shock and cruel violent. I think it is warning about whoever can die easily in black community. As a result, Tre and Darin decided to revenge to killer, but Tre stopped it. He realized that it is not meaningful anymore and they should stop.

It is great movie. It represents that problems in Black community and explain how to solve their problem. It is right decision in real world.
